Mount Olivet Cemetery in downtown Salt Lake City, UT is a beautiful and sacred place for you and your loved ones to be laid to rest.

Founded in 1874 through an act of congress and signed by President Ulysses S. Grant, Mount Olivet is a non-profit, public cemetery created to offer a safe, peaceful, and enduring space for persons of any and all faiths, affiliations, religions, and communities to be buried and honored.

The cemetery is managed by the on-site sexton with oversight from a board of directors comprised of different faith leaders in the community.

There are currently 40+ acres of developed land with available plots and an additional 15+ acres of undeveloped and future use land.

Veterans and service members of numerous wars and branches are laid to rest in our cemetery including some veterans of the Civil War and the Spanish-American war.

Though we are constantly in the process of upgrading and improving our cemetery, much of the infrastructure, piping, buildings, and trees are over 100 years old and reflect the character and challenges associated with a robust history.
